Novigrad (4000 inhabitants) is a small picturesque fishermen's town settled on the Western Coast of Istria, 15 km to the north of Porec, where once lied Emonia, a Roman settlement. Narrow streets, antique monuments made of stone, interesting old-time houses and their facades together with the partly preserved old walls remind us of the tumultuous past times and form a particularly beautiful seaside town, which thanks to the hospitality of its villagers has turned out to be a town, meeting modern tourism necessities. Small hotels, old-time buildings and a marine make the centre of the town look even more idyllic.
Beaches: Beaches are predominantly rocky under the pine trees which provide a pleasant shade during the hottest days. Particular attention is given to the environmental protection and the sea is extraordinary clear which has been attested by numerous tourist awards and blue flags.
Climate: Climate is mild Mediterranean. Springs are abundant and green, summers are warm with little rainfall, autumns are gentle and winters are mild except occasionally when the cold northern wind - the bora blows. In summer, daily temperatures can reach 30 C?, while the nights are pleasantly fresh. The sea temperature rise to 25 C?, and the swimming season starts in May.
