Novalja

Novalja is the tourist centre and the main port on the north Dalmatian island of Pag. It is very fascinating and attractive because of its beautiful and wide sandy beaches and pleasant Mediterranean climate, rich cultural and historical heritage, various recreational and sports offer, local cuisine specialties and it is also well connected to the mainland all over the year.

Beaches: Situated in a warm cove between the groves of pine, Novalja maintained the archaic Mediterranean ambience with the surroundings decorated with marvellous beaches: Zrće (with blue flag from 2003.), one of the most beautiful Adriatic beaches, Caska, Strasko, Trincel, etc. Novalja has become an important tourist centre. Its offer includes hotels, campsites, modern houses, the residential and tourist resort Gajac, sports and recreational facilities (sports centre within the campsite Strasko), gastronomic delicacies (the cheese of Pag, lamb, domestic wine), cultural events - attractive local dance, valuable heritage, excursions by boat.

Climate: Novalja has all the characteristics of the Mediterranean climate - pleasant springs, warm summers with little rainfall, gentle autumns and windy winters. Winds that mark the individual seasons blow in Novalja - most often the bora, a wind that dominates in winter. In summer, daily temperatures can reach 30 C?, while the nights are pleasantly fresh. The sea temperature can rise to 25 C?, and the swimming season starts in May.
