Delnice

Delnice is the centre of Gorski Kotar and, at the same time, its largest place. It is situated in the Delnicko Polje valley and surrounded by hills (Drgomalj, Petehovac and Japlenski Vrh). Lying at an elevation of 698m, it is also the highest town in Croatia.
Delnice is a destination recommended for high-altitude athletic training, and also for active holidays, recreation, or walking tours. Crni Lug is an idyllic mountainous settlement, covered in white during winter and floral starting point of the Risnjak National Park in summer.
For those fond of active holidays there is the Kupa or Brod valley with magnificent river Kupa offering canoeing, kayak or rafting, sport fishing, bathing and the unforgettable experience of a pure mountainous river.
After enjoying the sea or sailing along the Kvarner islands and then taking part in a party in Gorski Kotar in summer and after a day on snow letting yourself to the cosiness of a warm pool filled with the sea water on one of the well known rivieras of the Kvarner in winter is the experience you won't forget.
