Buzet - a small town in the interior of Istria, which together with its surroundings known as Buzeština encompasses around 165 km and a population of 6000 inhabitants. The Buzeština region is situated in the northest part of the interior of Istria, in the area between three big city centres of Rijeka, Pula and Trieste.

Buzet was declared the town of truffles in 1999 and in celebration of this event a special cooking attraction is prepared as a plate of a giant omelette or fritaja, a mixture of beaten eggs and truffles(2000 eggs and 10kg of truffles) fried in a giant pan, several meters large on the second weekend in September. This event marks the symbolic opening of the truffle season and the beginning of the Truffle Day event. It is a very contrasting region ranging from 100 metres to more than 1000 metres above sea level resulting in climatic differences. While the mild Mediterranean climate predominates in the Mirna valley, the continental climate dominates in the mountainous region of Ćićarija.

The Ćićarija region, the so called " ROOF of Istria", with its forests, beautiful pastures and meadows can offer a pleasant rest especially in summer months and to the snow lovers in winter as well.

In the Mirna valley, along the edge of the Motovun forest has developed the health tourism in Istarske toplice ( Istrian Spa) which offer sulphur baths, thermal and muddy baths used for treating rheumatics.
